Lake Oswego residents held a rally on Monday, September 21, 2020, to save Hallinan Woods. Rally goers brought awareness and urgency to preserving the 2-acre Yates property adjacent to Hallinan Woods.
Construction fencing was installed and clearing began over the weekend in preparation for cutting the first 27 trees; a first step to developing SIX large homes. The parks bond of 2018, approved by Lake Oswego voters, sets aside money to acquire natural areas AND a 2018 parks survey showed that acquiring natural areas is our #3 priority! Citizens encourage the city to purchase this property.
The following video visualizes what’s at stake with a stroll through Hallinan Woods followed by photos of the rally.
Didn’t Make It? No problem.
